Dev Meetup Kyiv #3

Dev Meetup Kyiv #3

At the third Dev Meetup Kyiv, key aspects of blockchain, cybersecurity, and IoT were discussed:

  • Token economy in cybersecurityAlexander Momot shared insights on Remme, a decentralized authentication system. The discussion covered the evolution of blockchain security, challenges of PKI infrastructure and passwords, tokenomics of certificate issuance, and staking-based protection. The complexities of implementing decentralized identity (DID) in corporate environments were also addressed.

  • Building secure blockchain applications with JavaDmitry Timofeev from Bitfury presented Exonum, a framework for private blockchains. The session explored key differences between public and private blockchains, Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus, Bitcoin anchoring, and smart contract implementation in Java.

  • Blockchain as a protocol for the Internet of ThingsRoman Kravchenko discussed IoT decentralization, device security, the use of smart contracts, and real-world cases in supply chain, identity management, and the robot economy. The talk explored how blockchain enables business process automation and addresses trust issues in IoT networks.

The meetup highlighted how distributed ledgers can transform security and automation, along with the challenges developers face when integrating blockchain across different industries.
