PoS
Proof-of-Stake (PoS) is a blockchain consensus mechanism in which nodes (validators) produce new blocks and validate transactions based on the amount of staked tokens. Unlike Proof-of-Work (PoW), where security relies on computational work, PoS relies on economic incentives, significantly reducing energy consumption. The more tokens a validator stakes, the higher the chance of being selected to create a block. This mechanism improves network efficiency, reduces scalability barriers, and is used in blockchains such as Ethereum, Polkadot, and Cosmos.
